Meet Our Staff

Sherri Roberts
Owner and Director
Sherri Roberts brings over 40 years of passion, dedication, and experience to the world of dance, cheer, and tumbling. A lifelong performer and instructor, Sherri’s journey began in her own youth, training in tap, ballet, jazz, poms, and acrobatics. Her talent and drive led to a standout performance career, earning her titles such as 1st runner-up to Miss Missouri Drill Team, a spot on the original Little Steam Heat Dance Line for the St. Louis Steamers (one of just 22 selected from more than 400 applicants), and a role with the Fabulous Fox Tellerettes. She also danced professionally with the Mademoiselle Showline and appeared on national telethons, including the Variety Club and Jerry Lewis MDA Telethons.
In 1989, Sherri followed her dream and opened Dance Craze. She later expanded the vision with the launch of Power Athletix, creating a dynamic space where young dancers, cheerleaders, and tumblers could grow in skill and confidence. As a teacher, coach, and award-winning choreographer, Sherri has led her teams to over 50 National Championship titles, along with countless awards for choreography, showmanship, and overall excellence.
Under Sherri’s guidance, students have performed at venues like Six Flags St. Louis, the Variety Club Telethon, and various local community events. Many of her dancers and cheerleaders have gone on to shine at the collegiate and professional levels.
In addition to her studio work, Sherri served as the head coach of the St. Francis Borgia Starry Knights Varsity Dance Team for five successful seasons, guiding them to four State Titles and four National rankings. She also proudly led the WJLF Cheer program for multiple seasons.
Sherri’s love for teaching and mentoring continues to inspire generations of performers, and her commitment to excellence, community, and joy is at the heart of everything she does.
Steve Roberts
Director of Cheer and Tumbling
With over two decades of coaching and teaching experience, Steve Roberts is a respected leader in the world of cheer tumbling and athletic performance. A former USAG Tumbling Pro and ACCA-certified coach, Steve has dedicated his career to building champions while prioritizing safety, discipline, and technique.
Throughout his career, Steve has played a pivotal role in the success of 16+ High School State Champion teams, and has personally coached and mentored numerous All-State athletes and Collegiate Cheer and Dance performers. His influence extends deeply into the All-Star Cheer world, having led teams to over 50 Regional and National Championships, including multiple paid bids and prestigious High Point titles.
Steve and his wife Sherri were true trailblazers in their community, founding the first all-star gym in Franklin County, where they helped set the foundation for elite-level cheer training and athlete development in the region. Known for his exceptional ability to deliver consistent, safe, and measurable results, Steve’s coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, athletic development, and personal growth.
Steve continues to produce athletes who go on to pursue their athletic careers at the collegiate level, with many earning spots on some of the nation’s most prestigious cheer and dance programs. His ongoing mentorship helps open doors to elite opportunities while building athletes who are prepared both physically and mentally for the next level.
A proud resident of Washington for over 30 years, Steve is deeply rooted in the local community, where he lives with his family. His unwavering commitment to youth development and athletic excellence continues to inspire athletes and families alike.


Alexis Roberts
Dance Guest Teacher and Choreographer
Alexis Roberts grew up training competitively in jazz, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, ballet, tap, tumbling, and cheerleading at Dance Craze. Roberts moved to California to pursue her collegiate dance career at Chapman University. She served as the President of the Team Shaka hip hop crew and Co-President of the 12x National Champion Dance Team. Roberts graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance, earning awards for her choreography and contribution to the department.
Roberts is a professional dancer with Go 2 Talent Agency based out of Los Angeles. She can be seen performing with Swift Nation Tribute Band, in Kylie Hughes’ music video, “Leave It Alone”, and the short film, “Come On Eileen”. She also choreographed Roisee’s music video “Ride My Wave”.
Her passion for teaching and choreography has enabled her to work with numerous dance studios, high school and college dance teams, cheerleading teams, and theatre programs. She shares her knowledge as a competition adjudicator and convention faculty member for dance companies nationwide. Roberts travels nationally to choreograph live entertainment for Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. Most recently, she choreographed Pump-Up Pep Rally, Monster Mash-Up, Rockin’ Holiday Hits, Club KI, and Coven.
Brittany Crismon
Cheer and Tumbling Coach
Coach Brittany is a dedicated cheerleading and tumbling coach with over 10 years of experience in the sport. She spent several years cheering at Power Athletix, and 4 years on varsity cheer at Washington High School, and now uses her knowledge and love for cheer to help young athletes grow in skill and confidence.
Off the mat, Brittany enjoys fishing, gardening, four wheeling, hobby farming, and spending time with her kids. Her laid-back, supportive style makes her a coach that athletes trust and look up to.


Callee Peterson
Dance Teacher and Choreographer
Callee Peterson has been dancing for 30+ years and teaching for over 18 years; starting right here at Dance Craze! She has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and tumbling. Callee has won various awards at dance competitions for her performances as well as her choreography, including special judges awards specifically for tap, musical theater, and contemporary choreography. She motivates her students to train hard in the studio in order to have the skills and strength to let go and have fun on stage.
Callee Peterson is also a Realtor, running a team with her husband in the local and surrounding counties. When she isn’t at the studio or working, she enjoys painting for a local statuary company, reading, and traveling anywhere there is open water.
Callee is excited to be home at Dance Craze and can’t wait to work with your kids and create memories together!
Denise Smith
Dance Teacher, Choreographer, and Cheer Coach
Denise has been moving with the Dance Craze since its very first year, and by 17, she was already inspiring the next generation from the front of the room. Her dance training includes ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, tap, acro, pom and hip-hop. She joined the Washington High School Jaywalkers Dance Team in its founding year and danced with them for 2 years. By around the age 20, she was choreographing for the D.C. Dazzlers and made her mark helping as one of the studio’s very first all-star cheer coaches.
Her performance resume dances across the St. Louis scene, as she was part of the local music-dance-fashion fusion project LOVE DRUNK, graced the stage with El Monstero in 2007, and spent many years energizing crowds with the cover band Super Majik Robots at venues around the region.
Denise has trained at respected institutions like St. Louis Ballet Academy and COCA, and she continues to evolve her craft through platforms like CLI Studios and American Ballet Theaters accredited teacher training programs. She's also earned certificates in choreography and staging, as well as injury and prevention strategies—and has her sights set on gaining her certification in Dance Teacher Education.
In the studio, Denise believes in working hard, adapting to each dancer’s unique strengths, and helping them grow to their fullest potential. Her goal? To make sure every dancer leaves class having learned something new—and with a smile of accomplishment. For Denise, teaching is about more than movement, it’s about connection, growth, and sharing the joy of dance.


Erin Murray
Dance Teacher
Erin began dancing at 3 years old and it quickly turned into something she loved to do. She has trained in tap, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop. During her adolescent and teen years, she was a member of the D.C. Dazzlers, the competitive dance team at Dance Craze.
While in high school, she was co-captain and choreographer for her school’s dance team both her junior and senior year. She also was on her high school’s cheer team and was captain her senior year.
In 2012, she returned to Dance Craze as a dance instructor primarily working with beginner dancers. Erin is also an elementary teacher in the area and is state certified in elementary and special education.
Hannah Boehmer
Cheer and Tumbling Coach
Hannah Boehmer began her cheer and dance training at Dance Craze and Power Athletix at the age of five. She was both a PAX All-Star cheerleader and D.C. Dazzler for several years. She was a member of the St. Francis Borgia varsity cheer team in high school, winning four state championships.
After graduation, she attended Southeast Missouri State while earning her Early Childhood Education degree. As a member of the SEMO Cheerleading Team for three years, she competed with her team and placed in the Top 10. While attending college, she coached tumbling classes and competition teams at Athletes Plus.
Hannah has eighteen years of cheer experience, competing for sixteen and coaching for five. She also assisted with St. Gertrude’s cheer team this past year. Hannah is currently the Varsity Coach for the Washington High School Cheer Program. She is thrilled to be a coach for the Xtreme Team this upcoming season.


Shauna Boehmer
Cheer and Tumbling Coach
Shauna Boehmer started training in dance and cheer at Dance Craze and Power Athletix at the age of five. She competed for several years on both the All-Star cheer teams and D.C. Dazzlers dance team. During high school, she was a member of the St. Francis Borgia varsity cheer team and won five state championships.
After graduating, Shauna pursued her collegiate cheer career at Maryville University. She was a member of the STUNT team, placing 5th at Nationals. She is currently a junior at Maryville University majoring in Nursing. She has truly enjoyed her transition from cheerleader to coach. Shauna was the Cheer Coach for St. Gertrude’s for three years.
She is the new Head Cheer Coach for Washington Middle School. Shauna is so excited to return to Power Athletix as a coach for the Xtreme Team.
